If You Blog It, They Will Come.....

Things have been real slow lately around Etsy, and not just for my shop!  Ok, so maybe my stuff just stinks?  It's like sitting in your shop, and constantly walking outside to make sure the sign says "OPEN".  Can everyone get to and find my shop?  Is PayPal working properly......?  If you are selling your crafts online, and are having the same problem, I KNOW you feel my pain!  I would just like to continue creating more jewelry, but unfortunately things must come to a standstill until sales start coming in -- or I become famous -- or we win the lottery!  :)  Anyhoo, Until that happens, I will just keep swimming..... (Sing it Dory!)

Here are a few shops to take a peek at!  This first item is from Bloom and Barnacle's shop.  A cute ghostie figurine created with sculpey clay.  They have many other festive Halloween items listed in their shop -- so hurry on in, before it's too late!

Aaaaahhhhhh....October!

Cool breezes, colorful trees and....  box elder bugs -- BLEAH!  It's difficult to go outside and enjoy the lovely weather with icky bugs flying in your hair.  All is well though!  Just bought our daughter a cute little witch costume for Halloween!  I will have to hold off on buying the candy -- we have already gone through 3 bags of candy, and it's not even close to halloween!

Here are a few Etsy shop mentions for the day.  Some beautiful items to decorate your home, and some to make you smile!

This little guy is whimsy and cute.  His little beady eyes say, "Take me home!"  Visit bdb world's shop to see other polymer clay cuties, cards, watercolors, and jewelry.

Hermit Crab

I adore these wool pear ornaments from lil fish studio's!  And they are from my favorite town, Brainerd, Minnesota -- where I grew up!  These would be just lovely on a your Christmas tree, or just for year-round decor.

I think that stoneware pottery is wonderful, and I love fall leaves.  I found this beautiful piece from Botanic2Ceramic while perusing the Etsy stores, and had to mention it in my blog!  A rustic looking, unique design with branch-like edges, and a maple leaf motif.

Gathering Leaves

Gathering Leaves

Spades take up leaves
No better than spoons,
And bags full of leaves
Are light as balloons.

I make a great noise
Of rustling all day
Like rabbit and deer
Running away.

But the mountains I raise
Elude my embrace,
Flowing over my arms
And into my face.

I may load and unload
Again and again
Till I fill the whole shed,
And what have I then?

Next to nothing for weight,
And since they grew duller
From contact with earth,
Next to nothing for color.

Next to nothing for use.
But a crop is a crop,
And who's to say where
The harvest shall stop?

Here are a few new earrings that I made and posted in my shop recently!  I hope you all are enjoying the cooler weather!

The Moon is Made of Cream Cheese

Okay, maybe not.  But really, if it were up to me, the moon would be made of rice crispies and marshmallows.....

Here are a couple pairs of "Moon" earrings that I recently made (in the spirit of Halloween, yah-sure).  These are made using Czech glass beads.  I know that they are very simple, but Czech glass beads are so pretty that they can stand alone!

Suprise Cupcakes

I made these delicious cupcakes today -- they are tasty and very easy to make!

List of stuff:  German chocolate cake mix, 8oz of softened cream cheese, 1/3 cup of sugar, dash of salt.

Prepare German chocolate cake mix as directed.

Mix cream cheese, sugar and dash of salt in a separate bowl.

Line cupcake tray with liners and fill cupcake liners 1/2 full with cake batter.

Drop a teaspoon (a blob the size of a quarter?) of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each 'cupcake'.

Bake cupcakes according to the directions on the box.

Enjoy!

Before I put the cupcakes in the oven, I sprinkled them with Halloween decorations (instead of using frosting).  The cream cheese sinks into the center of the cupcake -- that's your yummy surprise!
